Preparing for the Cardiovascular Interventional Exams
A recent change to the structuring of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists' certification system
means that there is no longer an advanced certification in cardiovascular intervention. Instead, the certificate has been divided into two distinct certificates -- vascular intervention and cardiac intervention. These are administered as separate tests, and while candidates can take both exams, they are formally considered separate certifications.
The cardiovascular-interventional technology certification focuses on cardiac catheterization and other related interventional procedures. The exams covers equipment and instrumentation, patient care, as well as cardiac image acquisition, cardiac conduction studies, percutaneous coronary interventional procedures, hemodynamics and calculations, and cardiac implants.
Each exam closely follows the format of the actual registry and are available on CD or as a download. Each of the questions in the cardiovascular-interventional exam come with explanations and are designed to help identify your strengths and weaknesses.
